Design from Finland mark awarded to Hima Furniture!

The Design from Finland mark of the Association for Finnish Work can be awarded to a product, product group or service that strongly represents Finnish design competence. The mark indicates that the company has invested in professional design and achieved business advantages through design. Products and services bearing the Design from Finland mark have been designed in Finland in a professional, responsible and user-oriented manner. These companies are transparent about their products and services’ production chain and country of origin.

Hima products are locally produced design furniture with ergonomic features. Each product is designed and manufactured in Finland. Products are designed by Kasper Nyman. Nyman is a Finnish furniture designer who runs his own design office called Office KN in Helsinki. New York Times selected Kasper Nyman as one of the most interesting new designers in 2016 during Milan design week. A 2017 graduate from Aalto University’s program of Furniture Design, Nyman continues the simplistic Scandinavian design traditions with his functional, visually precise products that have a strong focus on the natural character of different materials. Nyman's thoughts on the Hima series:

"The idea behind Hima series was to design ergonomic furniture that are suitable for home environment, without forgetting the quality of materials and the design of the products. The main materials are durable Finnish birch plywood and solid birch, which are laminated or lacquer finished. High quality materials ensure long life for the products and with local Finnish production, we can ensure that every product is made ethically and ecologically.
